BROKE!

New York is officially the most expensive city in the world, which isn't ideal for college students & recent graduates. With the cost of essentials being at an all-time high, young adults on a tight budget who want to explore all the city has to offer struggle to do so. While the city is expensive, there are plenty of deals & opportunities to ball on a budget. BROKE! is a campaign aimed at helping people on a tight budget in NYC easily find deals & affordable activities happening all around the city.

Guerilla Advertising

Survey results showed that the target audience frequents social media platforms to find new places and deals for food, drink, and entertainment around NYC. With this in mind, I created a series of guerilla advertisements. These ads are aimed to engage the audience with BROKE! by creating “Instagrammable” experiences that can be shared to social media.

Dime & Dash Festival

Dime & Dash is a food and drink festival powered by BROKE!. We’ve partnered with establishments all across the boroughs to help people discover all the hidden gems and delicious deals NYC has to offer. This portion of the campaign focused on the design elements that created a look and feel for the festival.

Mobile Website

The mobile site was made to serve as the hub for BROKE! Here users can get background information on the brand and what BROKE! is all about. In the spirit of low-budget and cheapness, as well as in favor of my target audience’s primary viewing, I designed the site to only be available for mobile, including a witty desktop redirection screen.
